Neftaly Technical Skills Training – 23 March 2015
On 23 March 2015, Neftaly successfully provided comprehensive Technical Skills training to 12,489 youth, in a collaborative initiative with the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund (NMCF) and Comic Relief. This landmark program aimed to equip young people with practical, industry-relevant skills that empower them to actively participate in South Africa’s growing economy.
The training focused on developing competencies in areas such as:
- Information Technology and Digital Literacy – enabling youth to navigate and utilize digital tools efficiently.
- Entrepreneurship and Business Skills – fostering innovation, critical thinking, and small business development.
- Vocational and Technical Skills – equipping participants with hands-on capabilities in trades and technical professions.
Through this initiative, Neftaly, alongside NMCF and Comic Relief, sought to create sustainable opportunities for youth empowerment, bridging the gap between education and employability. The program not only enhanced participants’ technical know-how but also inspired confidence, resilience, and a proactive approach to career and personal development.
The overwhelming participation of 12,489 youth underscores the urgent need and enthusiasm for skills development programs, and marks a significant milestone in the ongoing effort to prepare South Africa’s young people for meaningful employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
This partnership exemplifies how collaborative efforts between NGOs, funding organizations, and skills development institutions can transform lives and communities, providing young people with the tools and knowledge to build brighter futures.
