Introduction
December 2009 marked a milestone in the collaboration between Neftaly and the Free State Office of the Premier. This partnership was founded on a shared vision: to drive sustainable development initiatives, empower communities, and create opportunities for young people, women, and vulnerable groups across the province.
The month’s activities highlighted not only the strength of this collaboration but also the tangible impact of our joint programmes.
Objectives of the Partnership
- Strengthening Social Development: Delivering programmes that address poverty alleviation and social inclusion.
- Youth Empowerment: Providing skills training, entrepreneurship support, and platforms for young people to thrive.
- Capacity Building: Supporting local organisations, schools, and community structures with knowledge and resources.
- Partnership for Impact: Aligning Neftaly’s development expertise with the policy direction and priorities of the Office of the Premier.
Key Activities in December 2009
1. Community Outreach and Festive Support
- Distributed food parcels, clothing, and essential supplies to vulnerable households across the Free State.
- Partnered with local schools and churches to run holiday programmes that kept children safe, engaged, and inspired during the festive season.
2. Youth Development Programmes
- Conducted leadership and life-skills training sessions for youth in Bloemfontein, Thaba Nchu, and Botshabelo.
- Introduced entrepreneurship workshops to encourage youth-led business ventures.
3. Partnership Engagements
- Strengthened working ties with the Office of the Premier through regular consultative meetings.
- Explored future joint initiatives in education, health, and local economic development.
4. Capacity-Building for Community Leaders
- Delivered training sessions for ward committees and community-based organisations to enhance governance and service delivery.
Achievements and Impact
