To strengthen institutional capabilities and support sustainable cross-border development, the Neftaly 21 November Joint Planning and Cross-Border Development Forum (NeftalyCSPR-14) will prioritise comprehensive capacity-building initiatives. These interventions are designed to empower stakeholders with the technical skills, practical tools, and regional insights necessary to drive collaborative development efforts.
1. Technical Workshops on Key Development Themes
A series of specialised technical workshops will be conducted to enhance participants’ competencies in priority areas, including:
- Integrated Planning: Strengthening coordination across sectors and regions to ensure holistic development approaches.
- Regulatory Harmonisation: Aligning policies, standards, and procedures to streamline cross-border cooperation.
- Climate-Responsive Development: Promoting climate resilience, adaptation strategies, and environmentally sound planning.
- Investment Readiness: Building capacity for project packaging, proposal development, and engagement with investors and donors.
These workshops will be facilitated by industry experts, development practitioners, and policy specialists, providing participants with actionable knowledge and skills.
2. Provision of Toolkits, Resources, and Best Practices
To support practical implementation beyond the forum, participants will receive access to:
- Technical toolkits covering cross-border planning, project management, and regulatory alignment
- Resource guides providing templates, checklists, and frameworks for development initiatives
- Best-practice documents highlighting replicable models and lessons learned from successful cross-border programmes
These resources will serve as reference materials to support ongoing planning, partnership development, and implementation processes.
3. Peer-Learning and Experience-Sharing Platform
Recognising the value of shared experiences, the forum will implement a structured peer-learning model that enables participants to:
- Learn directly from regional case studies and real-world success stories
- Exchange practical insights with peers who have implemented similar initiatives
- Engage in reflective discussions aimed at identifying what works, what does not, and how to adapt strategies to their own contexts
This approach promotes collaborative learning, encourages innovation, and strengthens networks among stakeholders from different regions.
