Project Implementation Report: Neftaly – 20 June 2016
On 20 June 2016, Neftaly successfully conducted a Project Implementation Workshop targeting 3010 youth, in collaboration with the Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality Sector Education and Training Authority (CATHSETA). This initiative formed part of Neftaly’s ongoing commitment to youth development, skills enhancement, and employability in the creative and service industries.
The workshop aimed to:
- Equip youth with practical skills and knowledge relevant to the Culture, Arts, Travel, Tourism, and Hospitality sectors.
- Increase awareness of career opportunities within these industries.
- Foster entrepreneurial thinking and professional development among participants.
- Provide guidance on navigating sector-specific training programs and opportunities facilitated by CATHSETA.
During the implementation, youth participants engaged in interactive sessions including:
- Career guidance and mentorship in culture, arts, and tourism.
- Workshops on professional etiquette, customer service, and tourism management.
- Information on sector-specific learnerships, internships, and funding opportunities offered through CATHSETA.
- Group activities that encouraged collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving.
This initiative highlighted the power of public-private partnerships in transforming the lives of young South Africans by providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary to thrive in competitive sectors. The event received positive feedback from participants, with many expressing enhanced clarity on career paths and motivation to pursue further training opportunities.
Neftaly, together with CATHSETA, continues to champion youth empowerment and skills development, ensuring that the next generation is well-prepared to contribute meaningfully to the growth of South Africa’s culture, arts, travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors.
